Arizona Beauty

Arizona has beautiful weather much of the year, but with only eleven inches of annual rainfall, the foliage is........................uh, rather sparse.  Being midwesterners-at-heart, we long for the green grass, changing fall leaves, and beautiful bushes and flowers.  However, there is one bush that does so very well here and it is gorgeous.  Meet the Mexican Bird of Paradise!

This is a gorgeous bush that blooms most of the summer.  Its blooms are just now beginning to fall off as we get "cooler" temperatures.  But the intricacies in the blooms are amazing!  And the bees seem to love them, too.

I am thankful for the little bit of color we get during the summer months and will look forward to seeing theses bushes bloom again next year!
