Bottle Rocket

One of Isaac's birthday gifts from several years ago continues to be fun for both

him and the grandkids,  They spent the day with us today and since the weather

was "milder", it was a good day to set it off.

You can actually see the bottle launching in the following photo!

Retrieving the bottle and bringing it back for another launch!

Follow Up

I was right.  Yesterday morning we woke up to a lot of wind, and the blossoms were

flying through the air like a snow shower!

Last night we had rain and thunderstorms and this is what our sidewalk looked like this morning.

Isaac and Joshua finished up the majority of the garage work - at least enough to park

the truck back inside.  They still have a metal shelf to paint, but we need to

get another gallon before that can be finished.

Good Green/Bad Green

The good green first:

Everything is so lovely outside!  Trees are budding out and the grass is green!

I have no idea what kind of tree this is, but it smells heavenly and is loaded with

white blossoms.  We are supposed to get some strong winds this week which will

probably blow the blossoms to smithereens!

The grass is greening up everywhere, although we will need to fill in some bare

spots with grass seed.

We also have several Fairy Rings in the yard, which I learned about from Google.

"Abnormal turf growth where there are high levels of organic matter."

Very odd.  The three that we have are only in the front yard.

Now, for the bad green:

A previous owner must have gotten a really great deal on an obnoxious color of green paint.

The entire garage interior was painted with it, as well as several walls in the laundry room.

The boys have started on the much needed paint job and it looks so much better!

It looks so much better with a new coat of paint!  Great job, boys!

I think they will be able to finish the second coat tomorrow morning.

More life skills learned!  Great job, young men!!!

17!

Isaac is 17 today!  How can this be?

We celebrated him a good part of the day and ending up watching a movie

of his choice:

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ISAAC!

He is Risen!

He is risen indeed!

We had a wonderful church service this morning, followed by a brunch

put on by the youth.

Later in the day, we had steaks on the grill along with sweet potatoes.

Joshua is becoming a master at grilling!

A Trip to the Library

We made a trip to the library the other day.  The weather was gorgeous, and knowing that

rain was expected at the end of the week, we made it part of our homeschooling day.

Our youngest granddaughter, enjoying a matching game on the computer!

It's such an old computer I'm surprised it still works!

Courtney's Visit!

Courtney's visits are always highly anticipated and filled with a whirlwind
of activity.  This time was no different - very busy.

She helped us get our taxes ready for the CPA, but we did manage to have
some fun times.

Lots of good food!

Rachel's family came over for a day and it was so nice that we grilled out!

Courtney and I went over to Rachel's house one late afternoon to babysit while Rachel
went to a mom's event.  We picked up Valentino's pizza on the way and
had a great time with the kiddos.

Joe and Courtney went to Wymore where his mom, Janet Moore, is buried.

It was truly a walk down memory lane.

They visited with the owner who has beautifully maintained the farmhouse and property.

Joe's grandparents would be so pleased!

Joe even found his handprint from when he was about six years old.

A beautiful picture taken back in January during the snow storm.
Absolutely beautiful.

We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant after church.  Courtney and Isaac decided to
split the "Fajitas for Two", which probably would have fed four people!

Love this daughter of ours who made me a mom!

See you at the wedding!

February Car Wash

The weather continues to be dry and in the 60*s.

The boys were more than happy to put on shorts and give my truck a nice wash!

THANKS, GUYS!!
