Jonathan's New Corvette!

I guess when you have survived four years at the Eller College of Business at the

University of Arizona, the only thing left to do is to order yourself

a brand new Corvette!  Pretty snazzy!!

Unfortunately, it came it shortly after Joe and I left, so we missed the big event!

We were really hoping to get a ride in it!

Jonathan had some professional photos taken by an acquaintance who is
an up-and-coming photographer.
They turned out gorgeous!

All I can say, Jonathan, is BE CAREFUL!

A New Year Begins! 2022

Well, a new year has just arrived, and the joke is that 2022 is really " 2020, too!"

Lord, have mercy on us all.  I hope and pray that this is the year that
we all see the end of Covid!

Our New Year's Day was spent inside, except for when the boys and Joe went out to shovel.

We got about three inches - just enough for the boys to have fun shoveling.

Here is Isaac working on the back deck!

We normally go out for a meal on New Year's but the weather certainly

prevented that.  So we went out the following Monday, instead, to one of our

favorite Mexican restaurants, La Cocina.

Isaac ordered the Dos Manos (two hands) which is the largest item

on their menu!  And yes, he ate the whole thing!

School is back in session, the Christmas decorations are all put away, and I would say

that 2022 is off to a really great start!

Christmas with Rachel's Family

Plans rarely seem to go as originally intended.

We had scheduled to go to Rachel's house on January 1, to celebrate with her

family.  David would have the day off, and it would be wonderful to share the day

together and open Christmas presents.

However, the weather forecast continued to deteriorate, with anywhere from 5-7"

of snow developing on that day.

We quickly scratched that, and Rachel and crew came to our house on the

29th when she was planning a big Costco run.  David couldn't join us, but we decided

to go ahead and exchange gifts while it was still the Christmas season!

After all the presents were opened, Joe and Isaac accompanied Rachel to Costco to
help her with a BIG load .....plus a special lunch out.
Joshua and I held down the fort here with the three children!

Later that evening, David got to open his gift - a weather radio!
Have to be prepared here in Nebraska!

I think it was a very merry first Nebraska Christmas for the Camarena family!

Christmas 2021!

We had a wonderful Christmas Day with mild (for Nebraska) temperatures

and abundant sunshine.  The boys were thrilled with their gifts and were

all smiles during the day!

Stockings are opened first thing, and then we have breakfast.  And of course,
we clean up the kitchen before other gifts are opened!

Isaac and Joshua have a tradition to fill the stocking hats, leftover from an
Arizona parade, with gifts for Joe and me!  They also include puzzles, word finds,
fill in the blank, etc. for us to work on.
It's been great fun over the years!

Isaac, 14, the Nebraska fan!

Joshua, 13, the Alabama fan!

The boys got started right away on the 1,000 piece Memorial Stadium puzzle.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes to complete!

We had a non-traditional meal of steaks on the grill!  Delicious!

And the day was so wonderful celebrating the birthday of Jesus that I didn't take any

further pictures!
