Walking Around Pawnee Lake!

Pawnee Lake is about two miles from our house, so Joe and I have gone over
there several times to take an afternoon or evening walk.
It is simply beautiful!

Bringing Up Ol' Yeller!

Joe's truck, affectionately called Ol' Yeller by the rest of us was driven up to Nebraska
by a Willcox friend of ours.  Greg brought along his daughter, Emily, and we really
appreciate his doing this for us!  He was planning to go on to Illinois anyway, so
this worked out perfectly for all of us!

They stayed two days with us, and then Greg's dad picked the two of them up here and
off they went on to Illinois!  We had a great time!

These three had a fun time, although I think Isaac and Joshua had more fun
chasing Emily all over the place!

Grilling out!

Trimming some low hanging branches.......

It was great to see these friends of ours from Arizona!  Thanks for driving up
Ol' Yeller and the red trailer for us!

Flowers, Flowers, Everywhere!

Obviously a previous owner of our home loved flowers.
We have several flower beds around the front, sides, and even the back of the house.
It's beautiful, but does require weeding and trimming maintenance!

He Loves ORANGE!!!!

Did I ever mention that Isaac's favorite color is ORANGE?!!

Ha Ha - even his underwear was orange in this picture.

Our Strawberry Patch!

When we bought this house, I was thrilled to see a nice size strawberry patch off
the deck.  When we arrived, the fruit was just ripening!

They were delicious with the strawberry shortcake I made!

We had two more large bowls of strawberries harvested in the following weeks
after this!

Heading Back to Nebraska!

We had "planned" to head back to Lincoln in early April, but with all the scare of
Covid 19 at the time, we thought it was more prudent to stay put where we were
rather than to risk traveling.

But as time went on, states were loosening up, and we decided we had better
get on the road when we could!

As usual, when we travel, we take our time, and stop at a few selected interesting
places on the way.  This time was no different, plus we had Willie, the dog
with us this time.
He did fabulous!  He just slept at the boys feet for the majority of the trip!

One of our favorite stops each time we head west on I-40 is Groom, Texas, where
the massive 19 story, 2.5 million pound steel cross rises up from the flatlands.
We start seeing it about 20 miles away.

It's a wonderful place to stop, stretch your legs, and have a quick lunch.
Willie loved the cool, green grass and we could barely get him to get back in the truck!

We spent the night at a really great KOA just west of Oklahoma City.
The boys enjoyed a pizza, and we loved seeing all of the green grass and trees!
We definitely were not in the Southwest any more!

The next night we stayed at another favorite KOA in Salina.  Everything is based on
The Wizard of OZ - imagine that!

They had a huge, inflatable bounce pad, which was a great way for the boys to
burn off some energy!

And Willie enjoyed the green grass, too!

Finally................

Rachel's Big News!

Right before we headed back to Nebraska, we got to meet Rachel and the children at their new house!
They hadn't closed on it at the time, but their realtor was so gracious to give us a tour
knowing that we would be heading north very soon!

They are going to be so happy here and will enjoy all of the extra room!

PLUS, Rachel gave us a "sneak peak" at the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT that would
be coming soon!

So excited for Grandbaby #3!!!  Perfect timing!  We hope to be enjoying the warmth
of Arizona by time this baby arrives in early winter!
