Jonathan's Truck - A New Paint Job

Jonathan has a great truck, and he got it for a great price.
However, the Arizona sun has taken its toll on the paint job over the years.

So last Thursday, he came out to the farm to prep his truck and get it painted.
The requirement was fair weather and NO wind.
The weather forecast was not good for Saturday  - a big cold front was to
move in.....with strong winds.

So, Friday was the day to get it all done!

He washed it, with the help of Isaac and Joshua, several times, and
then had to put plastic and tape all over the not-to-be-painted areas.
Turned out to be quite the job!

Joe arrived back home early afternoon and was able to help out a bit.

Then the spraying began!

The finished product - it looks great!

Well done, Jonathan!
So glad you were able to come out and we could be a part of your big project!

It Wasn't What I Had Planned.........

One of my favorite sayings, when things don't go as planned, is:

"You never know what another day will bring!"

We tend to think that our days will go the way we want them to and are surprised
when the unexpected happens.

In early December, I rushed into the laundry room to hang up some laundry
before making dinner, and stepped up on the stool.  It tipped, I grabbed the
washing machine, and ended up twisting around.
And then I heard a BIG POP !

I was convinced that I had broken my leg.
Fortunately Rachel was home and helped me attempt to get up.
My leg gave way.

I ended up at the Emergency Room, where they determined that no bones
were broken, but they encouraged me to see an orthopedic doctor.

This is how I started out.

The immobilizer - felt good having everything held firmly in place.

After having an MRI, it was determined that I had torn my ACL.
Not good.

But God is faithful, and I am trusting Him to be completely back on BOTH feet!

I started physical therapy right after Christmas and the PT's have all given me
a very good prognosis.

And I'm making progress!

I have a better brace.

I have moved down to ONE crutch!
Which means I'm putting more and more weight on my injured leg,
which is good.

Last week, John, my PT told me to start using the cane when I am inside.
This was frightening!
I've come to realize that I am relying on that extra support, just for security!

So I am progressing, and that's what matters.

Through this whole episode, I have learned that I am more independent than I thought, and
I really don't like to rely on other people for help.

My family has been more than patient with me and have offered tremendous
help and encouragement, which has been a huge blessing!

So here are the Scriptures that are giving me hope:

Isaiah 35:6  NKJV

"Then the lame shall leap like a deer......"

Psalm 18:  33,36  NLT

"He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights."

"You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping."

Back to my strengthening exercises!
