Young Men Who Cook

Isaac and Joshua love to make breakfast on Saturday mornings.

They have gotten quite good at perfecting bacon, and the various ways each of us

like our eggs.  We just turn the kitchen over to them, and away they go!

Sometimes we have fruit and toast - but they are in charge!

Isaac is the master of bacon, so now Joshua is trying to match his skill!

And you know what?  They clean up, too!

These boys are going to make FABULOUS husbands someday!

Red Sky at Morning...........

This was the gorgeous sunrise that greeted me this morning!

And yes, the saying is true:

"Red sky at night, sailor's delight.  Red sky at morning, sailors take warning."

We are currently having little ice balls falling from the sky.  The weather forecast is

for various amounts of snow over the next four to five days.

Thank goodness we have no place to go and are warm and snug in our house!

HELLO 2021!

We are all certainly glad to see the year of 2020 go into the history books.

My goodness.......what a year that was.

Here's to hoping for a HEALTHY and JOYOUS 2021 to everyone who reads this!

The boys went out and added to the lone snowman that Joshua had created the day before.

As Rachel commented, "I assume the one on the left is Dad, the next one looks like it

has a thermometer stuck in its mouth.  Mom is the only one smiling, and the last one

looks like he ate too many cookies!"

Very accurate analysis!

On New Year's Eve, it is tradition for Joe to make his famous French Onion soup!

As usual, it was delicious, but poor Joshua.....the onion hater, didn't enjoy it at all.

Fortunately, there was other food in the refrigerator.

And yes, that's beer on my counter!  I cook all my crockpot meats in beer to make them

incredibly tender.  On New Year's Day we tried duck for the first time!

It was very tender and delicious!

Another tradition is making my cheese braid.

So, we are back in school, and our routine is back to normal  We had a marvelous

Christmas vacation!

And, as my dad was always so famous for reminding me:
