Well, this is very interesting! I took this test and my results were "Midland". Considering I have spent the majority of my life in the Midwest, this is perfectly normal! The Southern drawl and the New York accents are the most distinctive, I think. I can also tell if someone is from Canada or the upper Midwest. There is something about their "o's" .........I can't really describe it but the word "about" sounds sort of like "aboot".
But back to the test...........do some people really think that "feel" and "fill" sound the same? Or that the words "dawn" and "don" sound totally different? Not to me, but that's my Midwest accent coming through.
How about you? What is your accent? I'd love to hear your results!
What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.
