No words needed......
This morning I looked out our front window - and did a double take.
Snow? Thank heavens, no. Just thousands of beautiful white petals from
our flowering tree that the strong winds have blown off.
There were even piles of petals on the driveway!
Isaac is always up for a job. We had several dead branches that were low
enough for him to get with the pole saw.
Man, I'm going to miss this son of ours when he heads to the Army.
Our beautiful flowering tree that is always the first to bloom.
Spring seems to be coming late this year, but at least we have hope!
Life has been a whirlwind - no time to blog! Here is a quick update of
life after we returned from Arizona!
Courtney made her annual visit in late February to help us get our
taxes ready for the CPA. She's very good, and quick, at this and makes it
all seem very easy. It's also a good excuse to spend more time with her!
Courtney and I had a fun night out with a delicious dinner and then an art class.
We are definitely lacking in artistic talent, but it was fun!
After six weeks of fun and sunshine in Arizona, we arrived back in
Lincoln yesterday afternoon. Once we got home, Isaac headed
straight out to the driveway to play basketball .
The outdoor temperature? Ten degrees. He didn't last long!
During our years in Willcox, Arizona, we attended Extended Hands Ministries.
It has great teaching and wonderful people.
We went out there for church yesterday and it was great to catch up with people.
There's new people that have come and some people that we know are not
attending there any more.
Heather arranged for us to have lunch with several families afterwards, and
it was so great to have this time of fellowship!
Some of the people had already left by time we got this picture taken, but hey!
This is a great photo!!!!
Beth and I met in our French 2 class when we were 15 years old.
We've been best friends ever since.
Because of our move back to Nebraska and Covid, we hadn't seen each
other since 2020. We talk on the phone and text regularly so we are
definitely caught up on each others' lives.
So it was a special treat when she came down from Phoenix and we got
to spend the day together! We had a delicious lunch and then spent
some time walking around Sahuarita Lake.
It was so wonderful to catch up!! 💕
Love you my dear friend and sister in Christ!
Joe and I went for a quick walk the other day and as we turned the corner
onto the street that leads to the path, we came upon eight to ten javelinas!
We quickly crossed to the other side of the street, but that was quite a sight!
I celebrated another birthday yesterday, and it was such a treat to
go to my all-time favorite Mexican restaurant here in Arizona!
Magaly's in Benson, Arizona
It did not disappoint!
It was a wonderful day and we had such a nice drive east of Tucson.
Thank you, Lord, for another year of life! I am grateful! 💖💖
Every February, for two solid weeks, people from all over the world descend on Tucson
for the annual Gem Show.
Not interested at all.
Jonathan owns a carwash close to all of the venues and it has an extra lot next to
it. He and his partner decided to put down some rock and open it up
for parking for a very reasonable ten dollars.
He hired Isaac and Joshua to man the lot - they had a great time!
Our youngest granddaughter, Kinsley, also had a birthday recently!
She's a spunky little girl and reminds us so much of Rachel at that age!
Happy Birthday, Kinsley!
Nancy's family was one of the very first we met when we moved to
Arizona in 2005. Her girls, as well as our children, are all grown up now and
living their adult lives. But we have stayed in touch and remained good
friends over the years.
She picked me up today and we spent a fun time down in Green Valley just catching
up on our families, going to our favorite thrift store, and having a
delicious lunch. We had a great time!
The White Elephant, a fun thrift store that we used to visit when our kids were young.
I actually picked up four good books.
Jonathan drove down from Tucson and we tried a new BBQ restaurant
in Green Valley. It was very good and we all enjoyed a good time together!
This young grandson of ours had his 6th birthday recently!
We love you and wish you the best in the coming year!
Joe and I were out an about doing some shopping the other day and
went to lunch at Manuel's.
As we remembered, it was delicious!
Our flights to Arizona were uneventful, even though both were delayed.
We arrived in fine shape and the weather is glorious! We're going around in
short sleeves (not in the cool mornings, though) and we see people on the
sidewalks in winter coats, hats, and gloves.
We got the boys each a bike, and they are having a blast riding all around the
development, eating out, going to the clubhouse, and they even stopped by the
library and got library cards!
This first week has required a lot of set up and shopping, which I despise.
However, when we were at Lowe's, I couldn't resist taking a picture of
these beautiful flowers.
And, just to prove we are indeed in Arizona, I saw this man on horseback
while I was parking at Walmart. So funny!
It's so good to be back and to enjoy this beautiful weather!
The "experts" were predicting much more accumulation than this, but I'm very
glad this storm went more to the south of us.
We got about an inch and a half at the most.
